Search for the QCD critical point in high energy nuclear collisions

QCD critical point is a landmark region in the phase diagram outlined by temperature as function of baryon chemical potential. To right this second-order transition point, one expects first order quark-hadron boundary, towards left crossover region, top it lies quark gluon plasma and below hadronic phase. Hence locating through relativistic heavy-ion collision experiments an active area research. Cumulants conserved quantities strong interaction, such net-baryon, net-charge, net-strangeness, are suggested to be sensitive physics therefore useful observables study between quark-gluon matter. We review experimental status search for via measurements cumulants net-particle distributions heavy ion collisions. discuss various challenges associated corrections fluctuation measurements. also comment on implications comparing them with theoretical calculations.
